Södra Dalarnas RäddningstjänstförbundDalarnas län, Avesta
Previous experience is desired
Södra Dalarnas Rescue Service Association is responsible for rescue services within the municipalities of Avesta, Hedemora, Fagersta, and Norberg. The organization currently employs approximately 45 full-time and 100 part-time staff distributed across 6 fire stations. Our primary focus is to prevent accidents and fires, and therefore all personnel participate in preventive work.
Our member municipalities have an interesting risk topography, including heavy steel industry with extensive chemical handling, mining industry, national roads 66, 68, 69, and 70, as well as European road 16, paper and wood industries. Five of the industries are classified as Seveso facilities according to the higher requirement level. Södra Dalarnas Rescue Service Association is part of the Rescue Region Bergslagen (RRB) and its associated management collaboration.
We want you to be:
• Educated at MSB's training in Accident Prevention or Full-time Firefighter.
• Applicants with other qualifications/background may also be considered (however, you must have grades and the ability to study SMO remotely alongside your employment).
• Hold a driving license with at least category C, preferably CE.
• Able to express yourself easily in speech and writing.
• Have a good ability to work independently towards set goals.
• Have good physical ability (for new hires, a requirement is for example 5.6 km/h on the treadmill).
• Training as Rescue Leader A and Supervision A or equivalent is advantageous.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. If you do not meet the basic requirements, your application will not be considered.
As a firefighter in pool service, you will be part of a shift team but will have flexible stationing throughout the entire association area.
The position includes planning and conducting, among other things, introductory training/preparatory training for new employees. Depending on the organization's needs and your qualifications, area responsibility or functional area responsibility may also be relevant.
Responsibilities in area and functional area management include:
• budget responsibility (only area responsibility)
• working across the association and coordinating, initiating, leading, and distributing work within the area/functional area
• leading projects
• collaborating with external organizations/agencies on matters related to the area/functional area when applicable
• participating in meetings/forums internally and externally.
We hope to hire 2 - 4 firefighters during the spring. We hope you are one of them.
In parallel with this application, we are also looking for a longer-term substitute and substitutes for the summer.
